Things are looking pretty much the same for the Arizona Wildcats in this week's AP and Coaches polls. Sean Miller's crew remains in third place this week behind the fellow 27-2 record of the Florida Gators and the perfect 31-0 regular season by Wichita State.
Behind the Wildcats, there was a lot of change. Last week's top-10 teams in Syracuse, Kansas, Louisville, Creighton and Saint Louis fell, leaving the idle Duke Blue Devils to jump up to fourth, just behind Arizona.
The Virginia Cavaliers put in a good win for man-to-man defenses by pounding Jim Boeheim's zone and thus leapt from 12th to fifth in the AP poll. Virginia coach Tony Bennett, who left Washington State for UVA, told his Cavaliers that his father, Dick Bennett, wanted them to beat Syracuse's zone with their man-to-man defense. Bennett, who also coached at WSU, is considered the father of the Pack Line defense which his son runs and Virginia and Miller takes concepts from at Arizona.
