While we anticipate the annoucement of who stays and who declares for the NBA, Arizona is already preparing for the worst. Many have speculated that Brandon Ashley is gone, with some believing that Kaleb Tarczewski could be headed to the NBA as well. This has led Arizona to pursue Charlotte 49er graduate transfer Mike Thorne.
Thorne checks in at 6-11 and 270lbs. Originally from Fayetteville, North Carolina, Thorne wasn't heavily recruited out of high school, as he was unranked by many, holding offers to Citadel, Coastal Carolina and Tulane, among others. But during his time at Charlotte, he progressed each and every year, finishing his redshirt junior year averaging 10.8 points and 7.3 rebounds a game.
Thorne is set to graduate this May and will be eligible to play immediately wherever he goes. He is currently interested in Kansas and Illinois, who he has already scheduled visits for. He has not set a timetable for his decision.
Here are some highlights of his game vs Miami earlier this year.
