According to a report from CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein, the Arizona Wildcats will lose Brandon Ashley to the NBA Draft.
The junior forward from San Francisco averaged 12.2 points and 5.2 rebounds for Arizona in 2014-15 in 27.8 minutes per game.
The highlight of his year was easily the Pac-12 Conference Tournament, where he earned the tournament's Most Outstanding Player award. In those three games, Ashley averaged just under 20 points per game.
DraftExpress does not think very highly of Ashley. He's ranked as the 96th-best prospect, and is 60th in each of their last nine mock drafts. Ashley does not appear in mock drafts at ESPN and CBS Sports.
Most will see this as the door opening for Ivan Rabb to choose Arizona over Cal, as he'll now be able to play his own position. But Ryan Anderson also waits in the wings after sitting out this season due to the transfer rule. Anderson is listed as the exact same size as Ashley.
Good luck to Brandon if he does indeed officially decide to leave for the draft.
