For Pac-12 Media Day on Friday, the Arizona Wildcats were originally supposed to be sending Sean Miller and Allonzo Trier, but on Friday morning, the schedule changed, and Kadeem Allen was there instead of Trier.
During Arizona’s televised portion, the Pac-12 commentators did not touch on the topic. But when Miller took the podium later in the morning, the Daily Star’s Bruce Pascoe asked if Trier’s absence had to do with the sophomore’s eligibility status.
“I’m not gonna comment on that right now,” Miller responded.
As Pascoe writes in the article linked above, a UA spokesman and Greg Byrne have also refused to comment on the situation.
There are internet rumors swirling about a potential suspension for Trier, and this is the second time in a week that Miller has not shot them down.
“I can’t really respond,” Miller stated after the Red-Blue Game. “I think you’re talking about the rumors that are out there, and I can’t respond to that.”
On Thursday, Trier was out with the rest of the team handing out season tickets, as seen in this Instagram photo on the team’s official page.
As more info becomes available, we will of course pass it along.
