The Erie BayHawks of the NBA D-League have acquired former Arizona guard Gabe York, the team announced on Monday.

The BayHawks are the Orlando Magic’s D-League affiliate.

York was previously with Italy’s Vanoli Cremona in Serie A, where he averaged 4.3 points and 2.5 rebounds in six games before parting ways with the club earlier this month.

Here is the statement from the BayHawks, in its entirety:

Erie, Pennsylvania, November 21 – The Erie BayHawks have acquired guard Gabe York from the available player pool the team announced today. York will fill the roster spot vacated by Anthony Brown’s GATORADE Call-Up to the New Orleans Pelicans earlier today.

York joins the BayHawks from the University of Arizona where he was a four-year standout. In his senior season, he was selected to the All-Pac-12 Second Team while averaging 15.03 points, 2.24 assists, and 3.21 rebounds on the year.

York played for the Charlotte Hornets Orlando Pro Summer League team after going undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft. In five games, he averaged 9.8 points, 1.6 assists, and 2.67 rebounds while shooting 47% from the field and 36% from three-point range.

York is anticipated to be in uniform when the BayHawks visit the Greensboro Swarm on Friday and Saturday.

York spent four seasons in Tucson, where he averaged 9.2 points per game in his career. In his senior season, he was second on Arizona in scoring, posting 15.0 points per game and was named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team.

As the release states, York will make his debut in the D-League on Friday in Greensboro, North Carolina.

York’s former teammate, ex-Arizona center Kaleb Tarczewski, plays for the D-League’s Oklahoma City Blue, the affiliate of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Tarczewski is averaging 11.4 points and 8.4 rebounds in five games with the Blue.
