Three former Arizona Wildcats laced up Tuesday night, and all three had excellent games, two having career-nights.
Lauri Markkanen, while only three games into his career, broke an NBA rookie record by becoming the first player to hit 10 3-pointers in his first three games.
The 7-footer put up 19 points on 7-12 shooting, with a cool 5-8 from 3 against the Cavaliers.
Full game highlights, including a 3-pointer over LeBron James are below:
Aaron Gordon put up 41-points on 14-18(!) shooting and 5-5(!!) from 3 in an Orlando Magic win over the Brooklyn Nets. He made 8-10 free throws and hit a clutch, go-ahead 3 with 36 seconds left, too.
This shooting performance is coming from a monster athlete who struggled with his shot in his time at Arizona. At age 22, Gordon is showing how his dedication to improving is paying off.
Aaron’s highlights were fun — full of athletic put-backs, pull-up jumpers, and a new found stroke from deep:
On the other side of Gordon was Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, who had himself an efficient night as well. He scored 18 points in only 24 minutes, shooting 6-8 from the field.
Even though it’s early in the season Wildcat alums are already showing their growth and potential.
