Brandon Ashley is making a strong case to make the Dallas Mavericks’ roster this fall — or at least receive a training camp invite.
The former Arizona forward had another impressive showing at Las Vegas Summer League on Sunday, pouring in 12 points on seven shots and grabbing two rebounds in 18 minutes.
It came a day after Ashley scored 21 points in 20 minutes. In total, he is shooting 13 of 22 from the field and 3 of 7 from 3 in two games in Vegas, averaging 16.5 points per contest.
Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said Ashley has a “real shot” at making the team.
Ashley and the Mavericks are back in action Tuesday against the Miami Heat.
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson got another start for the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday and had eight points and 12 rebounds on 2 of 9 shooting.

Three Arizona Wildcats in action Monday
Markkanen had 14 points and eight rebounds in his debut on Saturday.
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and the Nets face the New Orleans Pelicans at 3 p.m. PST (ESPNU).
York has not played in the Lakers’ first two Summer League games, meaning he is more likely to play sooner than later.
