NBA: Dallas Mavericks-Media Day Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

After sitting the entire game Saturday, Brandon Ashley made his Orlando Summer League debut with the Dallas Mavericks on Monday and made the most of the opportunity.

The former Wildcat had nine points, a team-high eight rebounds, and two steals in 24 minutes in an 86-76 win over the Orlando Magic.

Ashley led the Mavericks in plus/minus (+16), and shot 4 of 8 from the field while sinking the only 3-pointer he attempted.

The Mavericks are 2-0 and play Tuesday against the Indiana Pacers at 12 p.m. PST.

Gabe York and the Charlotte Hornets were off Monday, but return Tuesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder at 2 p.m. PST. Both games will be televised on NBATV.

Through two games, York is averaging 2.5 points per game while shooting 2-for-7 from the field in 12.0 minutes.

Orlando Summer League runs through July 6.

Kadeem Allen debuts in Utah Summer League

Utah Summer League started Monday and the first game pitted Kadeem Allen and the Boston Celtics against Kaleb Tarczewski and the Philadelphia 76ers.

Allen played 13 minutes off the bench, tallying two points, four rebounds, two assists, and a turnover. The second round pick shot 1 of 3 from the field.

Tarczewski started for the Sixers and posted three points, three rebounds, two assists, and two blocks in 15 minutes. The 7-footer was 1 of 3 from the field and split two free throws.

He also got dunked on by No. 3 overall pick Jayson Tatum:

One Sixers fan was particularly frustrated with Tarczewski after he fumbled a pass.

The Celtics wound up beating the Sixers 89-88 in a thrilling game. Tatum finished with 21 points and sank a game-winning pull-up jumper. Celtics forward and former Cal standout Jaylen Brown had 29 points.

Markelle Fultz had 17 points on 16 shots for the Sixers in his professional debut.

There are no Utah Summer League games Tuesday but both teams resume Wednesday. The Celtics play the Spurs at 4 p.m. PST and the Sixers face the Jazz at 6 p.m. PST.

Both games will be shown on NBA TV.

Las Vegas Summer League, which features several Wildcats, begins Friday, July 7.
