For the third straight year, Kyle Fogg has won The Basketball Tournament.
The former Arizona Wildcats guard led Overseas Elite to a 86-83 win over Team Challenge ALS in the title game Thursday.
Fogg poured in 29 points and made two game-sealing free throws, earning his second consecutive MVP award.
As champions, Overseas Elite earns a $2 million prize, which will be divided up evenly among the team’s players. Fogg will get $147,000 and said Overseas Elite will donate a portion of the winnings support ALS research.
In total, Overseas Elite has earned $5 million in the last three summers.
In 2015, Fogg used his earnings from the tournament to help buy his mother a house. In 2016, he used his earnings to help furnish that house.
Earlier this summer, Fogg signed a $2 million contract with China’s Guangzhou Long-Lions in June.
He has not played a single minute in the NBA, but clearly has had a remarkable professional career nonetheless.
