Kadeem Allen’s highest point total during his two-year tenure with the Arizona Wildcats was 18.

So you might be surprised to see how many he scored for the Maine Red Claws on Tuesday.

Allen poured in a career-high 46 points for the Celtics’ G League affiliate as they fell to the Long Island Nets.

Forty. Six.

Here are the highlights:

The former Wildcat was 16-29 from the field, 5-9 from 3, and 9-12 from the free throw line.

In typical Kadeem fashion, he also had five assists, four steals, and two blocks.

Allen is a two-way player for the Celtics, meaning he spends most of his time in the G League. But he does get called up to the NBA club every so often.

The 25-year-old has appeared in three games for the first-place Celtics this season.

And if Allen keeps putting up numbers like he did Tuesday, it won’t be long before he’s spending even more time in the NBA.

Before Tuesday’s outburst, Allen was averaging 17.4 points per game with a line of .464/.321/.782 for the Red Claws — and we know what type of defender he is.
