Lauri Markkanen to play in NBA Rising Stars game

The former Wildcat will get to attend NBA All-Star Weekend

Chicago Bulls forward Lauri Markkanen will play for the World Team in the Rising Stars game during NBA All-Star Weekend, it was announced Wednesday.

They will play the US team. The game features the top first- and second-year players in the NBA.

It is no surprise that Markkanen was selected. The former Arizona Wildcat is averaging 15.5 points and 7.7 rebounds per game in his rookie season with the Bulls.

Here are the full rosters for the Rising Stars game. You will probably recognize a lot of the names:

The game will take place on Friday, Feb. 16 at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles. It starts at 7 p.m. MST and will be broadcast on TNT.

Aaron Gordon will be participating in the Slam Dunk Contest on Saturday, Feb. 17.
