Bracketology: Arizona is a 4-seed in West in our last projection

Arizona will likely end up on the 4-line this afternoon

The sound you just heard? That was the sound of a bubble bursting.

With Davidson winning the Atlantic-10 Tournament, one team falls out. For our projection, that team is the rival of the Arizona Wildcats — the Arizona State Sun Devils.

That brings our Pac-12 bid projection to only three — Arizona, the USC Trojans and the UCLA Bruins.

Here is our final projection before the Selection Show:

Last Four Byes: UCLA, Saint Bonaventure, USC, Missouri

Last Four In: Saint Mary’s, NC State, Oklahoma, Texas

First Four Out: Arizona State, Louisville, Oklahoma State, Middle Tennessee

Next Four Out: Notre Dame, Baylor, Marquette, Syracuse

Those last five spots are not guaranteed by any means. As mentioned this morning, the last team that feels safe is USC. After that, there are a lot of bubble questions and anyone just on the outside of the cut line has just as much of a claim to a ticket to the Big Dance.

As for Arizona, a good seed in the West region feels inevitable. It is likely to be a 4-seed but there’s certainly an argument for the Wildcats to end up on the 3-line after their strong finish.

The projections are done. We’re about to find out where all these teams land. Let the fun begin.
