Maine grad transfer Aaron Calixte has a long list of suitors, and the Arizona Wildcats apparently aren’t one of his preferred options.
Calixte has narrowed his potential landing spots to Oklahoma, GCU, DePaul, Florida State, and Missouri, according to Jeff Goodman of ESPN.
Maine grad transfer Aaron Calixte (16.9 ppg) told ESPN he has cut his list to Oklahoma, Grand Canyon, DePaul, Florida State and Missouri. Will visit Grand Canyon this weekend and Oklahoma next weekend.— Jeff Goodman (@GoodmanESPN) April 4, 2018
Evan Daniels of 247Sports had reported a couple weeks ago that Arizona had been in contact with Calixte.
The 5-foot-11 point guard averaged 16.9 points, 3.2 assists, and 3.1 rebounds with the Black Bears this past season.
The Wildcats, who return just six players and currently have zero incoming recruits, desperately need to add players this offseason and Calixte could have competed for UA’s starting point guard job.
Now they will have to turn to other options. Other grad transfers they have been connected to are:
- Pitt forward Ryan Luther
- Evansville wing Ryan Taylor
- Idaho State center Novak Topalovic
- Albany guard Joe Cremo
- Texas A&M Corpus Christi guard Ehab Amin
Arizona has also remained in contact with former point guard commit Brandon Williams, who is taking an unofficial visit to ASU this weekend.
