Next week, Arizona Wildcats center Dusan Ristic will take a cross-country flight to Virginia where he will be one of 64 players participating in the annual Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, reports Bruce Pascoe of the Arizona Daily Star.
The 12-game tournament runs from April 11-14 and features college seniors who are in good academic standing. The top five players in the event are invited to the NBA Combine.
The PIT will provide Ristic an opportunity to showcase his game in front of NBA and international scouts. The 7-footer is not expected to be selected in the 2018 NBA Draft, but could be a hot commodity overseas given his skill level offensively.
Arizona products Kadeem Allen and Ryan Anderson played in the PIT in recent years. Allen would go on to be selected in the second round of the NBA Draft, while Anderson signed with the Antwerp Giants, a Belgian club.
Other notable players participating in the PIT this year include UCLA’s Thomas Welsh, ASU’s Shannon Evans II, Cal’s Marcus Lee, Purdue’s Dakota Mathias, Virginia’s Devon Hall, and Colorado’s George King.
The full roster will be announced in the next few days. The tournament will be live streamed by NetCastSports.
