It doesn’t look like Rawle Alkins’ first job out of college will be in the NBA. Nope. It will be as an entrepreneur.
The Arizona Wildcats guard is apparently launching the Savage Life clothing brand. Take a look at what his gear looks like:
The Savage Life was Alkins’ signature mantra during his two-year tenure at Arizona in which he became a fan-favorite for his energy and toughness. The Brooklyn native even got the stoic Lauri Markkanen to embrace the Savage Life.
But how did that whole thing start and what exactly does it mean?
“It was in my sophomore year playing basketball, we were just savages, so I started saying savage life,” Alkins said during the 2017 Pac-12 Tournament. “I think when you look it up in the dictionary, it means beast, and that’s how I like to be on the court, and you gotta be a tougher guy.
“Everyone on our team’s a beast so we just say savage life. It’s a movement, join the movement.”
And now you can do that by buying some apparel whenever his new clothing line launches.
