The Los Angeles Lakers have several former Arizona Wildcats on their coaching staff, but one is reportedly considering a change of scenery.
The New York Knicks are “talking seriously” with Lakers assistant Jud Buechler about joining their coaching staff, according to ESPN’s Ian Begley.

The Knicks fired head coach Jeff Hornacek after a 29-53 season, and hired former Grizzlies head coach David Fizdale as their new head man and are still filling out their staff.
Buechler just finished his second season on Luke Walton’s coaching staff, which were his first seasons on an NBA coaching staff. Buechler worked mostly in player development.
Los Angeles, which went 35-47 this season, landed two players — Kyle Kuzma and Lonzo Ball — on the All-NBA Rookie Team.
Buechler played in the NBA for 12 years and won three titles with the Chicago Bulls after graduating from Arizona in 1990.
Other former Wildcats on L.A.’s coaching staff: Miles Simon, Jesse Mermuys, and obviously Walton.
Buechler coached the Lakers to an NBA Summer League title in 2017.
