The Arizona Wildcats are hosting 2020 point guard Nico Mannion on an unofficial visit Wednesday.
Mannion was spotted with Arizona’s entire coaching staff on University Boulevard by @NickPeppeTNN on Twitter, and the visit was later confirmed by 247Sports.
The Phoenix product has already visited the UA several times, so it’s not a surprise to see him there again.
“I’m up there pretty often during the season when they have games,” Mannion told Adam Zagoria last month. “I go up and watch games. They’ve been great. The way they recruit it’s good. It’s good facilities. I’m close with coach Sean (Miller) and Coach (Mark) Phelps.”
Just spotted Five Star Guard Nico Mannion (Class of 2020) on University BLVD with the entire Arizona coaching staff. Mannion recently picked up offers from Duke and Villanova. He is priority No. 1 for Sean Miller moving forward. He’s on campus in Tucson today. pic.twitter.com/KEmijdnZ41— Nick Peppe (@NickPeppeTNN) May 30, 2018
A five-star prospect, Mannion is the No. 23 player in his class and No. 2 point guard. He has offers from elite programs like Duke, Villanova, and Kansas.
However, the Crystal Ball is increasingly optimistic about Arizona’s chances of landing him. All five expert predictions made in May say Mannion will commit to the Wildcats.
The 6-foot-3 Pinnacle High School standout is considering reclassifying to 2019, which would allow him to start his college career in 2019-20.
