Allonzo Trier starts, scores 15 points in Knicks debut at Summer League

Lots of playing time for the undrafted free agent

Allonzo Trier is getting ample time to showcase his skills at Summer League.

The former Arizona Wildcats guard started and played a team-high 31 minutes in the New York Knicks’ 91-89 win over the Atlanta Hawks.

Trier scored 15 points on 12 shots. He was 0-of-3 from 3, but went 5-of-6 at the free throw line. He also had six rebounds, four assists, three steals, and a turnover.

Kevin Knox, Damyean Dotson, Frank Ntilikina, and Mitchell Robinson started alongside Trier.

Trier squared off against a Hawks backcourt that featured ex-Oklahoma star Trae Young and former Oregon Duck/UA commit Tyler Dorsey. Young had 21 points on 12 shots. Dorsey had 15 points on 21 shots.

Trier, who went undrafted, signed a two-way contract with the Knicks, so he will be spending most of his rookie season in the G League, though he is allowed to be with the parent club for up to 45 days.
