Arizona basketball media day scheduled for Monday

The Wildcats did not have Media Day last year

The Arizona Wildcats will hold their local Media Day on Monday, October 1, the UA announced.

Head coach Sean Miller will open the day with a press conference — which usually runs about an hour long — at 1 p.m., and then all players will be available for interviews afterwards.

Last year’s Media Day was cancelled due to the FBI investigation. Why is Media Day important? It is the only time during the season that we have access to every UA player.

Once the season begins, we usually only to get interview one or two pre-selected players a week in a press-conference setting (not including game days). So if you have any story ideas for us, feel free to drop a line.

Pac-12 Media Day is Thursday, Oct. 11 in San Francisco.

Arizona begins practice Sunday. The Red-Blue Game is Oct. 14. The regular season opener is Wednesday, Nov. 7 against Houston Baptist.

The women’s team’s first practice is Friday.
