The Arizona Wildcats had a laundry list of basketball recruits on hand last month for its Red-Blue scrimmage, including Donovan ‘Puff’ Johnson, a 4-star small forward who plays for Phoenix’s Hillcrest Prep.
Apparently that trip to Tucson made a strong impression on Johnson, because after taking an official visit that weekend he’s reportedly back for an unofficial one this weekend.
Arizona just hosted Top-50 senior Donovan ‘Puff’ Johnson for an unofficial visit today, a source told @Stockrisers. Took his official visit on September 27th.— Jake (@jakeweingarten) October 12, 2019
Johnson, the younger brother of Phoenix Suns rookie Cameron Johnson, is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 48 player in the 2020 recruiting class. Now playing for the same prep school from which Arizona got Deandre Ayton, he’s considered the 13th-best small forward in the country and fourth-best in-state prospect.
Arizona currently has one commitment for 2020, that being 4-star wing Dalen Terry, Johnson’s Hillcrest teammate.
