Deandre Ayton is back and it’s like he never left.
The former Arizona Wildcat and No. 1 overall pick returned from a 25-game suspension Tuesday and had 18 points, 12 rebounds, and three assists in the Phoenix Suns’ 120-99 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.
Ayton, who was in the starting lineup, went 9 for 19 from the field and grabbed seven offensive rebounds. It was just the second game he has appeared in this season.
Here are some of his highlights:
Ayton was suspended on Oct. 24 for violating the terms of the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program by testing positive for a diuretic.
The 7-footer told FOX Sports Arizona that the news of his suspension was “really shocking and embarrassing” and that he did not appeal it because he did not want to be a distraction to his team.
“Once I stepped onto the floor, I knew I was going to be alright.”
