Well, that was quick.
Former Arizona Wildcats star Mike Bibby has “mutually parted ways” with Phoenix prep school Hillcrest Hoops, according to Richard Obert of the Arizona Republic, less than two months after taking the job.
Bibby, who played for UA from 1996-98 and was part of the 1997 national title team, was hired in mid-October to coach a program that regularly produces top-tier college talent. Deandre Ayton finished his high school career there and the current roster includes 2020 UA signee Dalen Terry.
Hillcrest Hoops just finished playing in the prestigious Hoophall West tournament in Phoenix, where it lost twice. Prior to that the team had won its first eight games all by blowouts.
It was during Hoophall West that Bibby drew internet attention for his swole physique.

The 41-year-old Bibby had previously coached his alma mater, Phoenix’s Shadow Mountain, to five state titles in six seasons before being let go by in February amid allegations of sexual abuse.
