Hello, old friend.

The Arizona Wildcats will open the Wooden Legacy tournament against the Pepperdine Waves on Thursday, Nov. 28 at 5 p.m. PT at the Anaheim Arena in Anaheim, California.

The Waves are led by Lorenzo Romar, who was the head coach at Washington from 2002 to 2017, before a one-year stint as an assistant at Arizona during the tumultuous 2017-18 season.

The winner of the Arizona-Pepperdine game will play Penn or UCF in the semifinals on Nov. 29, then either Providence, Long Beach State, Wake Forest or the College or Charleston in the championship game on Dec. 1.

Coming off a 16-18 season, Pepperdine returns three starters and 75 percent of its scoring, 81 percent of its rebounding, and 85 percent of its assisting.

Former four-star recruit and Oregon Ducks big man M.J. Cage will be eligible to play for the Waves after sitting out the 2018-19 season due to NCAA transfer rules. Meanwhile, former Salpointe Catholic star Majok Deng is joining Pepperdine as a freshman.
