Five-star guard Daishen Nix narrowed his list of finalists to five schools Monday, a process he said “wasn’t easy.”
In the end, the Las Vegas native picked Alabama, Kentucky, Kansas, UCLA and Maryland as his preferred destinations. That means the Arizona Wildcats, and some other teams, were reluctantly cut from consideration.
“There are some good schools with great coaching that are being left off this list. Washington, Marquette, and Arizona just to name a few,” Nix wrote on Twitter.

Nix is the No. 14 player overall and the No. 1 point guard in the 2020 class, per 247Sports composite rankings.
Five-star guard Nimari Burnett recently removed Arizona from consideration, while another five-star guard, Caleb Love, will not officially visit the UA, despite it being one of his six finalists.
