Former Arizona Wildcats point guard and now-former IUPUI basketball coach Jason Gardner was arrested Monday morning for driving while intoxicated, according to RTV6, a news station in Indiana.
Gardner, 38, resigned from his position at IUPUI on Tuesday. He had been at the helm since 2014-15. In five seasons, he compiled a 64-94 record. Prior to that, he was an assistant at Memphis and Loyola Illinois.
The Indianapolis native attended Arizona from 1999-2003, and was a three-time All-Pac-12 performer, averaging 14.6 points per game over his career.
Gardner led Arizona to the national championship game in 2001, and his No. 22 jersey is retired by the school.
