The Arizona Wildcats announced Friday that they have added Jordan Mains as a walk-on.
The freshman forward is eligible to play immediately and will wear No. 50, sharing a number with former UA legends like Jacob Hazzard, Alex Jacobson, and Tyler Trillo.
The 6-foot-6, 200-pound Maims graduated from Phoenix’s Pinnacle High School, where he was an all-state player and won a pair of state championships alongside UA point guard Nico Mannion.
Mains averaged 10.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game as a senior at Pinnacle. He showed an ability to stretch the floor, shooting 42 percent (74 for 178) from 3 in his high school career, according to MaxPreps.com.
Mains’ father, Matthew, played four years at Findlay College, an NAIA school in northwest Ohio. His brother, Nik, is currently a sophomore on Northern Arizona’s basketball team.
