The Arizona Wildcats’ backcourt continues to stand out in practice as Seattle U grad transfer Terrell Brown won the gold jersey this week, the award given to the best player in practice.
Point guard James Akinjo won it last week after sophomore forward Jordan Brown (x2) and sophomore center Christian Koloko won the first three gold jerseys.

The 6-foot-1 Brown is expected to have a major role for the Wildcats, whether that be as a starter or a sixth man. He averaged 20.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.8 assists at Seattle U last season and can play both guard spots.
“I don’t care what conference you play in, if you scored 21 points per game and you shoot the percentage from two that he shot (42.9%), free-throw attempts that he shot (5.9 per game) we’re really excited to have Terrell,” head coach Sean Miller said in the offseason. “You could play in that third guard, second guard or a point guard, but he’s older, he’s physical and I think that he’ll help.
“Keep in mind, we lost our starting five and seven of our top nine players from a year ago. You have to blend in experience when you lose that much. Terrell, he’ll be a godsend for us, no doubt. He’ll be a big part of what we do this next season.”
