For the second straight week, a Pac-12 Player of the Week resides in Tucson.
Last week it was Arizona Wildcats guard Jemarl Baker Jr. who won the award on the men’s side.
This time it’s Aari McDonald who is taking it home on the women’s side for the sixth time in her career.
The redshirt senior averaged 21.5 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3.5 steals per game in Arizona’s first-ever road sweep of Colorado and Utah.
McDonald scored 21 of her 24 points against Colorado in the second half of a tight 62-59 win, including some critical free throws down the stretch.
She went 13 for 13 on the road trip, including 11 for 11 against the Buffaloes.
In the 77-60 win at Utah, McDonald had 19 points, six rebounds and six assists. She shot 40 percent from 3 on the weekend.
For the season, she is averaging 21.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.7 steals per game.
The Wildcats return to action Wednesday when they host Idaho.
Arizona is 6-0 overall and off to its first-ever 5-0 start in Pac-12 play.
