As expected, four-star point guard Isael Silva committed to the Stanford Cardinal on Tuesday. The Arizona Wildcats were one of many programs to offer him, and hosted him for an unofficial visit in September.
All 11 Crystal Ball predictions had Silva picking the Cardinal. The Wildcats were likely out of the running from the moment they signed Estonian guard Kerr Kriisa on Sunday.
A good shooter with a tight handle, Silva is the No. 32 player in the 2021 recruiting class, per 247Sports composite rankings. He is Stanford’s first 2021 commitment and latest recruiting victory.
Jerod Haase and company recently added a commitment from five-star forward Ziaire Williams, making Stanford’s 2020 recruiting class the 13th-best recruiting class in the country and the Cardinal one of the favorites to win the Pac-12 this season.
They also return starters Bryce Wills, Oscar da Silva, and Daejon Davis. Maybe Tyrell Terry too, but the freshman point guard is first testing the NBA draft waters.
