The Arizona Wildcats have a scholarship available and could use a proven, veteran frontcourt player. Maybe they can steal one from their in-state rival?

Arizona State Sun Devils center Romello White has entered the transfer portal as a graduate transfer, according to Matt Zenitz of

The senior averaged 10.2 points and 8.8 rebounds last season, one of the better big men in the Pac-12. White has declared for the NBA Draft but isn’t expected to stay in.

There’s no indication that Arizona is interested in White (or vice versa), but him switching sides in this heated rivalry is fun to think about. You couldn’t fault him for wanting to be a Wildcat. Everyone wants a better life.

The Sun Devils had been on the other end of the transfer portal this offseason, adding Ohio State guard Luther Muhammad and Portland State guard Holland Woods.

They also landed five-star recruit Josh Christopher and high four-star recruit Marcus Bagley, pegging some to name ASU as the early favorite in the Pac-12. But losing White and possibly Remy Martin and Alonzo Verge Jr. to the NBA Draft would change the calculus quite a bit.

Both have until June 3 to decide if they want to return to Tempe.
