The Arizona Wildcats have made a concerted effort to recruit the Pacific Northwest after adding Seattle native Jason Terry as an assistant coach, but they saw another prospect come off the board Saturday.
Four-star guard Nolan Hickman, who received an offer from Arizona in May, has committed to the Kentucky Wildcats.
The 6-foot-2 Hickman is the No. 51 player in the 2021 class and No. 5 point guard, according to 247Sports composite rankings.
Hickman is originally from Sammamish, Washington but will attend Wasatch Academy in Utah this year.
His commitment comes just a couple days after fellow Seattle product Paolo Banchero picked Duke over Arizona and several other schools.
Arizona is still after Shane Nowell, a four-star 2021 wing who used to be teammates with Hickman at Eastside Catholic in Sammamish. Nowell’s older brother Jaylen used to play for Washington.
