Former Arizona Wildcats forward Aaron Gordon will be sidelined for four to six weeks with a severe ankle sprain, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
Gordon suffered the injury dribbling up the court in the third quarter of the Magic’s loss to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday. He left the game on crutches. (Ironically, it was former Wildcat Stanley Johnson who was guarding him at the time.)

Gordon is averaging 13.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.8 blocks per game this season, while shooting 43 percent from the field and a career-high 37 percent from 3.
The Magic are 8-13 and have already lost starting point guard and former Washington Husky Markelle Fultz to a season-ending ACL tear.
Gordon is in his seventh season with the Magic, who drafted him fourth overall in the 2014 NBA Draft. That was after just one season at Arizona, where Gordon was the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and averaged 12.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.0 blocks and 0.9 steals per game.
The 25-year-old signed a four-year, $76 million extension with Orlando that runs through the 2021-22 season.
