Adante Holiman, a class of 2022 point guard, has included the Arizona Wildcats in his list of top seven schools, according to his Twitter page.
An under-the-radar guard from McAlester, Oklahoma, the 5 foot 9 Holiman’s other suitors are Arizona State, Akron, DePaul, Saint Louis, South Alabama and Tulsa.
He told 247 Sports’ Brandon Jenkins that Akron and South Alabama have been recruiting him the hardest and that Arizona has been talking to him since last fall.
“They are a guard university,” Holiman told Jenkins. “Sean Miller and Jason Terry let me know that I am one of the guards they would like to have. It felt great to get the offer because they have been talking to me since October. They tell me that I earned that offer from them and to keep working.”
Holiman is unranked by 247Sports, while ESPN rates him as a four-star prospect.
Holiman would break with Arizona recruiting tradition if he were to choose the Wildcats. The last Oklahoma native to suit up for Arizona was Tulsa’s Jason Ranne. Ranne played sparingly from 2002 to 2004.
Holiman told 247Sports that location is not as much of a factor as relationships with a coaching staff. He said he will wait a few months before he revisits his list or sets a commitment date.
