Sean Miller doesn’t have a contract beyond next season, but that hasn’t stopped recruits who wouldn’t arrive until after then from remaining interested in the Arizona Wildcats.
The latest 2022 prospect to do so is Noah Shelby, a 4-star shooting guard from McKinney, Texas who has the UA among the 10 schools he’s currently considering.
Recruitment is open, but these are the 10 programs that I am currently considering to further my education and basketball career. #TGBTG @FreeKeyThree @CoachDShelby @HSCircuit @RP3natural @teamtraeyoungmb pic.twitter.com/zZ9GBT3fVA

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound Shelby is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 102 player in the 2022 class, as well as the country’s 13th-best shooting guard and the No. 13 prospect from the Lone Star State. Auburn, Baylor, Kansas, Memphis, Mississippi State, Minnesota, Stanford, Vanderbilt and Virginia are the other schools Shelby still has in the mix, though overall he’s received offers from 17 programs.
“I have kept in contact with Sean Miller and Jason Terry,” Shelby wrote in his tweet. “They have been telling me how my ability to shoot can open up the offense for everyone else.”
Shelby is the second 2022 player this week to include Arizona on a cut-down list. Adante Holiman, a 4-star point guard from Oklahoma, put the Wildcats in his top 7 along with Akron, ASU, DePaul, Saint Louis, South Alabama and Tulsa.
Arizona does not currently have a commitment for 2022, though only 10 of the top 100 players in that class have committed somewhere.
