The top in-state prospect from the class of 2022 has trimmed his list of schools to 11, and Arizona made the cut.

Sadraque Nganga, a five-star forward from Compass Prep in Chandler, announced his top 11 on Twitter Tuesday, and the Wildcats were one of several power five schools on the list.

Other notable suitors include Kentucky, UCLA, Arizona State, Kansas and Illinois.

Originally from Angola, Nganga previously played at Hillcrest Prep. He is ranked the No. 17 prospect in the 2022 class according to 247Sports and is considered especially athletic for his 6-foot-9 frame.

Here is what NBA Draft Room has to say about the incoming high school senior:

“A special athlete, 6-10 and graceful on the court with good length and wiry strength. It’s becoming cliche to compare prospects to Pascal Siakam but that’s the type of player he is. Nganga is a hybrid forward who can play almost any position on the floor. He’s becoming a good ball handler and can run the fast break or break his man down with the dribble. He can shoot the ball from deep and shows a lot of promise on the offensive end. What stands out most about Nganga is his awesome athleticism and length. He clearly has an NBA frame and exceptional athleticism. Looks the part of a first rounder. His ability to defend in space and change ends in a flash help make him a high level prospect.”

The site projects him as a lottery to mid first round pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.

There is no guarantee Nganga plays college basketball. Last year he spoke to Adam Zagoria of Zagsblog about the possibility of jumping straight to the league if the one-and-done rule goes away.

“If that happens I’m going to the league,” he said.
