Arizona forward Jordan Brown enters transfer portal

NCAA Basketball: Arizona at Oregon State Soobum Im-USA TODAY Sports

Arizona Wildcats forward Jordan Brown has entered the transfer portal, according to Stadium’s Jeff Goodman.

The redshirt sophomore sat out the 2019-20 season after transferring in from Nevada, then averaged 9.4 points and 5.2 rebounds at Arizona in 2020-21, earning Pac-12 Sixth Man of the Year honors.

The former McDonald’s All-American started in 12 of 26 games and scored in double figures eight times, including 25 points in 21 minutes in a win at Oregon State.

Assuming Brown does indeed transfer from Arizona, it leaves the Wildcats with five scholarship spots to fill. In addition to Brown, Arizona has seen Jemarl Baker Jr., Ira Lee, Terrell Brown, James Akinjo, Daniel Batcho and Tibet Görener transfer away and 2021 signees K.J. Simpson and Shane Dezonie decommit.

From a scholarship-player perspective, Arizona’s roster currently looks like this under new head coach Tommy Lloyd:

  1. Kerr Kriisa, G
  2. Dalen Terry, G
  3. Bennedict Mathurin, G/F
  4. Azuolas Tubelis, F
  5. Christian Koloko, C
  6. Shane Nowell, G
  7. Tautvilas Tubelis, F
  8. Oumar Ballo, C
