Former Arizona Wildcats standout and current Atlanta Dream guard Aari McDonald was named to the Associated Press WNBA All-Rookie Team on Wednesday.
After leading UA to the national championship game, McDonald averaged 6.3 points, 2.0 assists, 1.6 rebounds and 0.8 steals in 16.4 minutes per game for the Dream. The former No. 3 overall pick shot 32.2 percent from the field, 30.8 percent from 3 and 88.2 percent from the free throw line.
Marred by several management and coaching changes, the Dream went 8-24, the second-worst record in the Eastern Conference.
McDonald appeared in 30 games and started in four of them. She will now head to Hungary to play overseas for Uni Gyor.
The other members of the AP All-Rookie Team are Michaela Onyenwere, Didi Richards, Dana Evans and Charli Collier.
A no-brainer for the @AP All-Rookie Team
