Jason Terry may no longer be on Arizona’s coaching staff, but his connections and influence in the Seattle area are still paying off for the Wildcats.
Koren Johnson, a 4-star guard originally from Seattle, has included the UA in his final three along with San Diego State and Washington.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Johnson is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 119 player in the 2022 recruiting class, as well as the 19th-best combo guard in the country and the No. 4 prospect playing in Utah. Johnson began his career at Seattle’s Garfield High School but now plays at Wasatch Academy in Mount Pleasant, Utah.
Arizona offered Johnson in July of 2020, and at the time then-incoming transfer Terrell Brown Jr. was excited about the prospect of another Seattle area player coming to Tucson. Brown, who played for the UA in 2020-21, has since transferred to Washington for his final year of eligibility.
Making his top 3 is an indication that Johnson has remained in contact with the UA despite the coaching change. And the Wildcats are in need of commitments for 2022, holding only one in 4-star Gilbert center Dylan Anderson.
