December 23 is already expected to be a big day for Arizona men’s basketball, as they face Florida Atlantic in a top 25 matchup in Las Vegas.

The day could also feature a commitment from Zoom Diallo, a five-star class of 2024 point guard who is down to Arizona, Gonzaga, USC and Washington.

Diallo tweeted Tuesday afternoon “December 23…. ,” likely in reference to his commitment date.

The 6-foot-4, 190 pound Diallo is considered by 247Sports to be the top point guard in his class. Diallo is ranked No. 19 overall in 247Sports’ rankings.

The Tacoma, Washington native plays for Prolific Prep, one of the top high school programs in the country.

So far Diallo has kept his recruitment close to the vest. Arizona, however, is considered the favorite to land Diallo according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine. It’s hard to give much stock to an AI-powered recruiting prediction algorithm but take it for what it’s worth.

Diallo made an official visit to Arizona in October. He also visited Arizona in October 2022.

Diallo would be the latest piece to the Wildcats’ loaded 2024 class that already features three top 100 players. Arizona’s class ranks No. 8 nationally according to 247Sports.
