Arizona football's defensive backfield received three commitments over the past week.
Maybe the biggest grab of the group is Jarvis McCall, a safety transfer who committed to South Florida as a member of the 2012 class. Anthony Gimino caught wind of his transfer after eyeing McCall's Armwood High School Twitter feed. McCall is a 6-foot, 185-pound player who was a three-star prospect across the Rivals and Scout recruiting networks and is a four-star for 247Sports. He didn't step onto the field for the Bulls because of academic issues but has his full eligibility.
The Wildcats also got a commitment from Rodney Carr, another 6-foot safety. Out of Los Angeles' Salesian High School, Carr apparently took the Arizona offer on site.

Carr is a three-star prospect as well, but he could be a key in the Wildcats landing two teammates. Outside linebackers Jamardre Cobb and Marquis Ware out of Salesian are both four-star recruits, according to rivals.
With the #Arizona offer to Rodney Carr, that could go a long way in helping land Jamardre Cobb and Marquis Ware. They want to play together.

The Wildcats also earned a commitment from non-ranked cornerback Jace Whittaker out of Oceanside High School. He's a 6-foot, 175-pound athlete also listed as a received.
Arizona now has nine commitments for the 2014 class. Gimino has the full list going at TucsonCitizen.com.
