Arizona football recruiting: 4-star DB Jalen Tabor commits to UA over Alabama

The Wildcats nabbed the biggest recruit in the Rich Rodriguez era,

USA TODAY Sports

The Arizona Wildcats received a commitment from highly-ranked cornerback Jalen Tabor on Thursday. During the third quarter of the Under Armour All-America game, the ESPN crew led with questions about Alabama and coach Nick Saban's expertise in developing secondary players, but Tabor made those questions irrelevant by pulling an Arizona hat out of the bag.

The Wildcats had to fend off a number of schools for Tabor's services, including Florida State, Florida and the school in his backyard, Maryland. But in the end, it was a fight with powerhouse Alabama.

Tabor is the 15th-ranked player in the entire 2014 class, according to ESPN's Recruiting Nation. The 6'1, 188 pound defensive back from Friendship Collegiate Academy in Washington D.C. was a 5-star in terms of composite ratings, according to 247 Sports.

The commitment was probably the biggest recruiting win for Rodriguez in his brief time in Tucson.
