Arizona football: Scooby Wright named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week

No surprise on defense, but no DaVonte' Neal on special teams

A day after collecting National Defensive Player of the Week honors, it's no surprise that Scooby Wright was named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week.

Scooby is the second Arizona player this year to earn the conference's weekly honor. Cayleb Jones won Offensive POW after the Cal game.

For special teams player of the week, DaVonte' Neal just lost out to USC return man Adoree Jackson. Jackson had a 100-yard kickoff return, as well as a forced and recovered fumble on defense. Neal had an 81-yard punt return for a TD to go with his three catches for 29 yards and a TD.

The Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week was Marcus Mariota, who had the same number of touchdowns as Anu Solomon (5), but a few more yards (326-294).
