Arizona football: Nick Wilson, Drew Riggleman named Pac-12 Players of the Week

Almost a sweep of the Pac-12's weekly awards for Arizona

After a dominant performance against the Utah Utes, the Arizona Wildcats earned two of the three Pac-12 Player of the Week honors.

True freshman running back Nick Wilson was named the conference's offensive player of the week, while punter Drew Riggleman got the nod on special teams.

Honestly, I'm not sure how Arizona didn't sweep this with Tra'Mayne Bondurant missing out on the defensive honor. The Pac-12 gave UCLA's Eric Kendricks that one. Kendricks did have four more tackles, but Bondurant had a forced fumble, and while both made an interception, Tra'Mayne returned his for a touchdown.

Either way, Wilson is just the second running back to win the award this year. USC's Javorius Allen won it the week the Trojans took down Arizona. Wilson is also the second Wildcat to win it. Cayleb Jones won it the week of the Cal game.

Wilson ran for 218 yards on 20 carries against the Utes last week, and scored three touchdowns, including this 75-yarder.

Riggleman brings the special teams award to Tucson for a second-straight week after Casey Skowron's amazing performance against Washington earned him the honor last week. The junior punter was forced to kick seven times vs. Utah, and averaged 52 yards on those punts. On drives after Riggleman punts, Utah scored zero points.
