Arizona football recruiting: Antonio Parks commits, Kahlil McKenzie's decision upcoming at 'The Opening'

Can Arizona really land the best player in the West? We find out this week.

Student Sports

The week of Kahlil McKenzie's decision is finally upon us, but first, the Arizona coaching staff made some fireworks of their own on the Fourth of July when three-star defensive back Antonio Parks announced his commitment to the Wildcats on his Twitter.

Parks is a longtime friend of current Wildcat Jonathan McKnight. McKnight and Parks grew up on the same street in Louisiana, and have known each other for over ten years now. Parks also had offers from ASU, Clemson, and Duke, among others according to 247Sports.

Kahlil McKenzie notes

McKenzie is slated to announce his decision between Arizona and Tennessee on Thursday, July 10th at a showcase event called "The Opening". If you've never heard of The Opening, the SB Nation recruiting guys put together this comprehensive guide of what exactly it is. Also, here is a complete roster of all the high school talent participating.

Kahlil is on team Alpha Pro. Here's a highlight video of the players on that team that the people from 'The Opening' sent along.

McKenzie is rated by many people as the top player in the West, and while it seems likely that he will follow in his parents' footsteps and head to Knoxville, you never know with high school recruiting. Here is the SB Nation scouting report on him.

Bucket Gang of course is Matt Dudek's term....but....
