We all know that Scooby Wright III is pretty good at this football thing, but he made the top of another poll before the 2015 season gets going.
Athlon Sports polled 19 writers, asking for their top 15 players in the Pac-12, and Scooby earned 16 of the 19 first place votes.
Here's how the rest of the top eight of the poll turned out:
I was asked to vote in this poll, and I wanted to share my top 15 that I sent in. Just want to make it known that I don't know how to rate offensive linemen, especially college offensive linemen that don't have the analytics the NFL has now, so I didn't put any in. Two OL players made the overall poll's top 15.
1. Scooby Wright, LB, Arizona
2. Jared Goff, QB, Cal
3. Royce Freeman, RB, Oregon
4. Myles Jack, LB, UCLA
5. Devontae Booker, RB, Utah
6. Cody Kessler, QB, USC
7. Su'a Cravens, LB, USC
8. D.J. Foster, WR, ASU
9. DeForest Buckner, DE, Oregon
10. Adoree' Jackson, USC
11. Paul Perkins, RB, UCLA
12. Nelson Spruce, WR, Colorado
13. Cayleb Jones, WR, Arizona
14. Budda Baker, CB, Washington
15. Nick Wilson, RB, Arizona
I'm high on Goff because I think he'll have an enormous year at Cal. It's his third year in the conference, and with improved players around him, and that offense, he could set a bunch of records. I'm also high on Freeman because I think Oregon is going to go to him early and often to start the season with their weird QB situation.
How would you rate your top Pac-12 players? Do I have the three Arizona players right? Does Anu Solomon deserve to be up there? Or am I just a big idiot who screwed this poll up?
