The chrome helmets are back!
The Arizona Wildcats unveiled their uniform combination for Saturday night’s tussle with the No. 12 Colorado Buffaloes, and they’ll be bringing back the shiny red helmets along with red jerseys and white pants.
Here is center Nathan Eldridge and offensive guard Jacob Alsadek making the announcement:

Of course, the last two times Arizona wore the chrome helmets, it didn’t go so well for them on the field. Last September, the Wildcats were drubbed by the UCLA Bruins 56-30 with ESPN’s College GameDay in Tucson. Then they were beaten by ASU in the chrome helmets in the regular season finale.
As a whole, Arizona is 1-1 all-time when wearing a red helmet, red jersey, and white pants, and is 4-0 against Colorado since Rich Rodriguez took over as UA head coach in 2012.
The Wildcats (2-7 overall, 0-6 Pac-12) will look for their first conference win against the Pac-12 South-leading Buffaloes (7-2 overall, 5-1 Pac-12) on Saturday.
Kickoff at Arizona Stadium is set for 8 p.m. MST and the game will be televised on Fox Sports 1.
Will the third time be the charm for the chrome helmets?
