The Arizona Wildcats have released their injury report for Saturday’s home opener against Grambling State, and there was a surprise name on it — starting quarterback Anu Solomon, who is listed as questionable due to a knee injury.
Here's the full report:
Probable: None
Questionable: S Tellas Jones (ankle), QB Anu Solomon (knee)
Doubtful: None
Out: WR Tony Ellison (knee)
Solomon suffered the injury in practice this week, AZ Desert Swarm has learned.
The severity of it is unclear, but it’s unlikely Solomon will play this week, giving Brandon Dawkins a chance to start at quarterback.
Jones, on the other hand, suffered his leg injury against BYU. At the time, it looked like it was his knee that was getting worked on on the sideline, but it’s listed as an ankle injury on the official report.
Meanwhile, wide receiver Tony Ellison is expected to miss his second-straight game with a knee injury of his own.
Kickoff against Grambling State is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. PT and it will be televised on the Pac-12 Network.
Expect Dawkins to start at quarterback for Arizona.
