After beating Cal last weekend, the Arizona Wildcats are now 5-2 and one win away from bowl eligibility.
There’s still five games left, so it’s nearly certain the Wildcats will be bowling this season.
But where will they be bowling? Let’s take a look at some projections.
Sun Bowl (Dec. 29, Sun Bowl, El Paso, TX)
- ESPN’s David Hale (vs. Louisville)
Sign me up for this. Khalil Tate has recently drawn comparisons to Lamar Jackson for being one of the most electrifying dual-threat quarterbacks in the nation, and what better way to see how they stack up than having them face each other?
Cactus Bowl (Dec. 26, Chase Field, Phoenix, AZ)
As a Diamondback fan, I think it would be cool to see Arizona play at Chase Field — but also a little weird because, well, that’s a baseball stadium.
Texas Tech seems like a decent opponent, but the real question is: does the winning team get to jump in the Chase Field pool to celebrate? Or will there be horses defending it!?
Las Vegas Bowl (Dec. 16, Sam Boyd Stadium, Las Vegas, NV)
Arizona fans seem to always appreciate a trip to Vegas, but facing non-Power Five schools doesn’t seem ideal. Plus, we all know what happened the last time Arizona faced Boise State.
Texas Bowl (Dec. 17, NRG Stadium, Houston, TX)
Sporting News’ Bill Bender (vs. West Virginia)
The Rich Rodriguez Bowl!
Pac-12 bowl tie-ins
- Alamo Bowl vs. Big 12
- Holiday Bowl vs. Big Ten
- Foster Farms Bowl vs. Big Ten
- Sun Bowl vs. ACC/Notre Dame
- Las Vegas Bowl vs. Mountain West
- Cactus Bowl vs. Big 12
(Note: The Rose Bowl is a CFP Semifinal game this season so the Pac-12 champion is not automatically eligible for a spot in the game.)
