— Brandon Dawkins and Khalil Tate are listed as co-starters, but Dawkins is expected to be the starter. That said, multiple quarterbacks are expected to play vs. NAU.
— Arizona’s top four wide receivers appear to be Shun Brown, Shawn Poindexter, Tony Ellison, and Cedric Peterson.
— Three true freshmen are listed as starters on defense: Kylan Wilborn (stud), Tony Fields II (will), Scottie Young Jr. (free safety)
— Dane Cruikshank, a cornerback last season, has shifted to spur. Lorenzo Burns, a redshirt freshman, is now Arizona’s No. 2 cornerback alongside Jace Whittaker.
— Ex-Boise State defensive lineman Dereck Boles is listed as the starter at nose tackle ahead of Luca Bruno, but Rich Rodriguez said Bruno is the starter and the depth chart should say “or.”
— True freshman Bryce Wolma is the No. 2 tight end behind Trevor Wood.
— True freshmen Colin Schooler (linebacker), Tony Wallace (cornerback), Troy Young (bandit), and Jalen Harris (stud) are listed as primary backups. Basically, a lot of freshmen are going to play on defense right away.
— Josh Pollack and Lucas Havrisik are listed as co-starters as placekickers.
— Shun Brown will be handling punt return duties, while Brown and Cedric Peterson will handle kickoff return duties
— Rodriguez said linebacker DeAndre’ Miller, tight end Jamie Nunley, offensive tackle Bryson Cain, and safety Isaiah Hayes are not listed on the depth chart for injury reasons. Hayes may play vs. NAU, but the other three will not.
— Arizona hosts NAU on Saturday, Sept. 2 at 8 p.m. MST at Arizona Stadium.
