The college football season is upon us, as the Amway Coaches Poll was released Thursday morning.
The Arizona Wildcats received two votes, placing them at No. 55 in the country.
Coming off a 3-9 season in which Rich Rodriguez sits firmly on the hot seat, the pair of votes come as a bit of a surprise as they mean either two coaches ranked Arizona at No. 25, or one coach has them at No. 24 in their poll.
Schools I was surprised to see in Also Receiving Votes category of Coaches Poll: Cuse got 3 pts, Zona got 2, Army got 1 (Navy & AFA didn't)

The poll is conducted by a board of 65 FBS coaches, including Rodriguez.
Overall, the Pac-12 has four teams in the Top 25. The USC Trojans are the highest ranked at No. 4, followed by the No. 7 Washington Huskies, No. 14 Stanford Cardinal and No. 25 Utah Utes.
The Washington State Cougars and Colorado Buffaloes were voted the highest among non-top-25 teams, receiving 99 votes and 72 votes, respectively.
The UCLA Bruins received one vote, and the Arizona State Sun Devils got none.
Here is the entire poll:
